Users need the ability to navigate directly to a specific page when reviewing tasks. Currently, the pagination control only allows moving forward/backward or clicking one page at a time. For users working with hundreds of pages of tasks, this creates inefficiency and slows down their workflow.
Current Limitations
- No Direct Page Navigation: Users cannot type in or jump directly to a specific page number.
- Time-Consuming Browsing: To reach later pages (e.g., page 120 of 170), users must click through dozens of intermediate pages.
- Inefficient for Large Data Sets: Customers with large task volumes cannot quickly access the section they need.
General Example
A maintenance manager wants to review tasks from six months ago, which fall around page 120 in the Completed Tasks view. To get there, they must click through page numbers repeatedly until they finally reach the correct page—wasting valuable time.
Requested Enhancements
- Jump-to-Page Field
Add a text field or dropdown in the pagination bar where users can type a page number and go directly to it. - Quick Navigation Controls
Provide additional options such as “First Page,” “Last Page,” or larger skip intervals (e.g., jump forward/back by 10 pages). - Consistency Across Pages
Apply this pagination improvement to all task-related pages (Open Tasks, Completed Tasks, etc.).
Business Value
- Efficiency: Saves significant time for users managing large task volumes.
- Usability: Provides a more intuitive navigation experience for paging through records.
- Scalability: Ensures the system remains user-friendly as task data grows.
- Productivity: Helps managers and technicians quickly locate relevant historical records.
