Users need the ability to generate a shareable link for Purchase Orders (POs) within the system. Currently, POs can only be shared by printing an external or internal view, but there is no option to copy or send a direct link. Having shareable links would make collaboration and communication around POs much easier.
Current Limitations
- No Direct Links for POs: Users cannot copy a link to an existing Purchase Order.
- Workaround Required: Sharing POs requires printing and sending static views, which is less efficient.
- Collaboration Friction: Without a shareable link, coordinating around active POs is slower and less convenient.
General Example
A buyer needs a supervisor to review a Purchase Order. Since no shareable link is available, they must generate a PDF view and send it separately. This creates extra steps, adds to file clutter, and slows down the review process.
Requested Enhancements
- Direct PO Link Option
Add a feature to copy a secure, shareable link to a Purchase Order from within the PO interface. - Internal/Role-Based Access
Ensure the link respects permission levels—only users with appropriate access can view the PO. - Consistency with Other Modules
Align PO sharing behavior with other areas of the system where internal links already exist (e.g., tasks, assets).
Business Value
- Efficiency: Reduces the steps required to share POs for review or approval.
- Clarity: Ensures stakeholders are always looking at the live, most up-to-date PO.
- Collaboration: Simplifies internal workflows by making POs instantly accessible through a link.
- Scalability: Supports larger teams where multiple people need to review or approve POs.
