Overview
Customers need a faster and more natural way to communicate and document information, especially in mobile and field operations. They want to reduce reliance on manual typing by using voice-based input (voice notes and voice-to-text) for quicker, more accurate, and hands-free data capture.
Current Limitations
• Users must manually type all chat messages and task notes.
• There is no ability to record or send voice notes within the customer chat.
• Technicians and operators cannot easily capture direct verbal statements.
• Manual transcription is slow and increases the risk of data entry errors.
General Example
A technician working in a noisy or hands-on environment needs to report a maintenance issue. Instead of typing, they could record a short voice note describing the problem or use voice typing to quickly add task notes. Currently, they must stop work, type the message manually, and potentially misrepresent spoken details.
Requested Enhancements
- Voice Recording in Chat – Add an in-chat microphone button that allows users to record and send voice notes directly in conversations.
- Voice-to-Text in Tasks – Enable speech-to-text input for adding task notes, comments, and descriptions.
- Audio Attachments in Tasks – Allow recording and attaching voice clips (e.g., statements from technicians or operators) directly to the task timeline or notes section.
- Cross-Platform Support – Ensure both features work seamlessly on web and mobile apps, optimized for mobile-first usability.
Business Value
• Improves communication speed and reduces typing fatigue for field users.
• Increases accuracy and completeness of task documentation.
• Enables real-time capture of authentic operator or technician statements.
• Enhances mobile usability and accessibility in high-activity environments.
