Overview
Users need the ability to enter more than one Service line item within a single Purchase Request. While the “Other” category already supports multiple line items and Parts support multiple additions, Service remains limited to a single entry. This inconsistency forces users to create multiple Purchase Requests for related services tied to the same task.
Current Limitations
• Only one Service line item can be added to a Purchase Request.
• Users must create multiple separate Purchase Requests when multiple services are needed.
• Creates unnecessary duplication and clutters the task with multiple linked requests.
General Example
A technician needs both an inspection service and a calibration service from the same vendor. Since Service allows only one line item, they must submit two separate Purchase Requests, even though both items relate to the same task and vendor.
Requested Enhancements
- Add support for multiple Service line items, mirroring the “Other” purchases layout.
- Include an “Add Another Service” button that dynamically creates new service rows.
- Display each service as an independent line item in summaries, approvals, and vendor-facing documents.
- Maintain consistent UX behavior across Parts, Other, and Service sections for a unified purchase request experience.
Business Value
• Reduces administrative overhead by consolidating all service needs into a single request.
• Improves accuracy and clarity for approvers and vendors.
• Decreases task clutter caused by multiple linked Purchase Requests.
• Saves users time and increases workflow efficiency.
