Overview
Customers want to edit task instructions without losing visibility into key task context. While not in edit mode, users can easily see the asset, assigned technician, and estimated time, but this context is hidden once they enter instruction editing. This forces unnecessary navigation and interrupts workflow efficiency.
Current Limitations
• The task edit view does not display the associated asset.
• The assigned technician is not visible while editing instructions.
• Estimated time is only viewable by opening Advanced Instructions, adding extra clicks.
• Users must exit or navigate away from edit mode to confirm key task details.
General Example
A technician manager edits task instructions and needs to confirm the assigned technician and asset to tailor guidance correctly. While editing, they cannot see who the task is assigned to or which asset it applies to, and must exit the editor or open advanced settings to check estimated time, slowing the process.
Requested Enhancements
- Display the associated asset within the task instruction edit view.
- Show the assigned technician in the edit mode header or sidebar.
- Surface estimated time directly in the main edit view without requiring Advanced Instructions.
- Maintain consistent task context visibility between view and edit modes.
Business Value
• Reduces unnecessary navigation and extra clicks during task editing.
• Improves accuracy when editing instructions by keeping critical context visible.
• Ensures workflow efficiency for planners, supervisors, and administrators.
• Creates a more intuitive and consistent editing experience across task views.
