Overview
Customers want the ability to create a single, scalable dashboard that automatically adjusts its data based on the logged-in user. This would eliminate the need to duplicate dashboards and widgets for each individual user, improving efficiency and maintainability.
Current Limitations
• Dashboards and widgets cannot dynamically filter data based on the logged-in user
• Users must create separate dashboards for each individual or role
• Updates require manual changes across multiple duplicated dashboards
• Increased risk of inconsistencies and outdated configurations
General Example
A manager wants each technician to see only their assigned work orders on a shared dashboard. Currently, the manager must create and maintain separate dashboards for each technician, rather than using one dashboard that dynamically updates based on who is logged in.
Requested Enhancements
- Introduce a dynamic filter option such as “Current User” or “Logged-In User” for dashboards and widgets
- Allow filtering by fields like “Assigned To = Current User” or similar user-referenced logic
- Enable this dynamic filtering across all relevant widget types (e.g., work orders, tasks, requests)
- Ensure compatibility with shared dashboards so one configuration works for all users
Business Value
• Reduces dashboard duplication and administrative overhead
• Improves scalability as teams grow
• Ensures consistency across user views
• Simplifies dashboard management and updates
• Enhances user experience with personalized, relevant data automatically displayed
