Overview
The customer wants user dashboard widgets to display all tasks a user is responsible for, including those assigned via teams or roles. Currently, widgets only surface tasks directly assigned to individual users, creating visibility gaps and increasing the risk of missed work.
Current Limitations
• User widgets only display tasks assigned directly to the individual user
• Tasks assigned to teams or roles are excluded from widget visibility
• Users who are members of teams cannot rely on widgets for a complete task view
• This creates fragmented workflows and requires manual cross-checking
General Example
A technician belongs to the “Maintenance Team” and is assigned tasks through that team. While these tasks appear in other views, they do not show in the user’s widget, causing the technician to overlook assigned work unless they manually check team assignments.
Requested Enhancements
- Expand widget logic to include tasks assigned to any team or role the user belongs to
- Provide filtering options within widgets (e.g., “My Tasks Only” vs. “My Tasks + Team Tasks”)
- Clearly label tasks by assignment type (Direct vs. Team/Role) within the widget
- Ensure consistent behavior across web and mobile dashboards
Business Value
• Reduces missed or overlooked tasks
• Improves accountability and task visibility for team-based workflows
• Streamlines user experience by consolidating task views into a single widget
• Enhances adoption of team assignment features without sacrificing usability
