Overview
The customer wants clearer and more efficient ways to filter widgets by assigned users and teams. Currently, selecting teams lacks transparency because users cannot see which individuals belong to each team, leading to confusion and inefficient filtering workflows.
Current Limitations
• Team selection does not display associated users within each team
• Users cannot easily verify which individuals are included when filtering by team
• No automatic relationship between selected users and their corresponding teams
• Filtering requires manual guesswork or external knowledge of team structures
General Example
A manager configuring a dashboard widget selects multiple teams to track work orders but cannot confirm which technicians are included in those teams. This results in either missing relevant assignments or over-including unintended users, reducing the accuracy of the widget.
Requested Enhancements
- Display team membership within the filter UI (e.g., expandable team lists showing included users)
- Enable hover or preview functionality to quickly view users in a selected team
- Allow user-based selection to automatically include their associated team(s) as a filter option
- Introduce a dual-filter mode where users and teams are visibly linked and dynamically synchronized
Business Value
• Improves accuracy of reporting and dashboard widgets
• Reduces time spent configuring and validating filters
• Enhances user confidence in team-based assignments
• Minimizes errors caused by incomplete or misunderstood team structures
