Overview
Make the custom field type visible when editing an existing field and provide a supported way to change the field type where technically possible. Currently, users can select a type when creating a field, but that information is not clearly shown on the edit screen afterward.
Current Limitations
• When creating a custom field, users explicitly choose a type such as Text, Number, Currency, Pictures, Documents, Date, Dropdown, or Video.
• When editing an existing field, the field type is not displayed.
• Users cannot determine from the edit screen what type of field they are working with.
• There is no option to change an existing field from one compatible type to another.
