Overview
The customer needs a way to remove specific inventory quantities while preserving the correct historical cost layer. In this case, recently received parts were incorrect and discarded, but the associated Bill and PO were valid and needed to remain intact for accounting history. The current manual quantity adjustment reduces inventory according to the configured consumption method and does not let the user choose whether the oldest or newest inventory layer should be removed.
Current Limitations
• Manual quantity reductions follow the configured inventory consumption method.
• Users cannot choose FIFO or LIFO for an individual manual adjustment.
• Reducing quantity can remove cost from the wrong inventory layer even when the physical parts being discarded came from the most recent receipt.
