The current Work Request History experience introduces friction for requesters who need to view and navigate their past submissions. Despite being logged in, users are forced through unnecessary steps and lack intuitive navigation tools, which slows down their workflow and negatively impacts the user experience.
Current Limitations
- Redundant Login Step: Logged-in users are still required to manually enter their email address to access their work request history.
- Basic Pagination: Users must click through one page at a time to browse completed tasks. There are no options to jump to the first or last page, which becomes tedious for users with a large volume of requests.
- One-Way Navigation: While users can move from the history page to the work request portal, there is no direct way to return to the history page—creating a fragmented and inefficient navigation flow.
General Examples
- A requester with dozens of historical work orders must click "next" repeatedly to reach older records due to the lack of advanced pagination.
- Even when already logged into the system, users are prompted to re-enter their email, leading to confusion and wasted time.
- After submitting a new work request from the portal, users cannot easily return to their request history to confirm its submission or check previous tickets.
Requested Enhancements
- Session-Aware History Access
Automatically recognize logged-in users and allow direct access to their request history without requiring an additional email entry. - Improved Pagination Controls
Add controls to jump to the first and last pages of request history, and ideally include numbered page navigation for easier browsing. - Two-Way Navigation
Provide a persistent or clearly marked option to navigate back to the history page from the work request portal.
Business Value
- Efficiency: Reduces redundant user actions and improves navigation speed across the portal.
- Usability: Makes it easier for requesters to find and manage their historical requests.
- Consistency: Delivers a smoother, more intuitive experience by supporting seamless back-and-forth navigation.
- Adoption & Satisfaction: Enhances user confidence and satisfaction, increasing overall engagement with the portal.
