Users managing inventory and responding to minimum threshold tasks need faster, more contextual access to part-related information. Currently, parts cards do not display any associated open tasks, and clicking a part from a minimum threshold task redirects the user away from their workflow to a separate parts page.
Current Limitations
- No Visibility into Open Tasks: The parts card does not list active tasks that require the part, creating a blind spot in understanding demand.
- Full Page Redirection: Clicking on a part within a minimum threshold task redirects users to the full part page, disrupting their task flow.
General Example
- A technician receives a minimum threshold task triggered by low stock on a part. They want to check if other open tasks are also using that part, but the parts card shows no such information.
- When they click the part, they’re taken away from the task screen entirely, requiring extra navigation to return to their original context.
Requested Enhancements
- Display Open Tasks on Parts Card
Show a list or count of all open tasks associated with a part, directly within the part card. - Enable Pop-Up View from Minimum Threshold Tasks
Instead of redirecting, open the parts card in a pop-up/modal window when accessed from a minimum threshold task. This allows users to stay within context while reviewing part details.
Business Value
- Inventory Awareness: Gives users real-time visibility into part demand, improving planning and task prioritization.
- Workflow Efficiency: Reduces disruptive page loads and improves overall navigation fluidity.
- Decision-Making: Empowers users to make faster, more informed decisions when evaluating part usage and availability.
