When working on long templates, users must currently scroll all the way to the top of the page to switch from Build Mode to Preview Mode. This disrupts workflow and becomes increasingly inconvenient as templates grow in length and complexity.
Current Limitations
- Static Preview Button: The "Preview" option is anchored at the top of the template builder interface and is not accessible once users scroll down.
- Workflow Disruption: Users must scroll manually to the top every time they want to preview their progress, interrupting focus and reducing efficiency.
- Poor UX for Long Templates: The longer the template, the more cumbersome it becomes to access preview functionality quickly.
General Example
- A technician or manager is editing a large preventive maintenance (PM) template. To check how their changes look in Preview Mode, they must scroll all the way back up, losing their place in the editor and potentially introducing errors or rework.
Requested Enhancements
- Floating or Sticky "Preview" Button
Make the "Preview" button persist as a floating or sticky element that remains visible while scrolling through the template builder. - Optional Collapsible Toolbar
Consider implementing a collapsible toolbar with key actions (Preview, Save, etc.) that follows the user down the page without obstructing content.
Business Value
- Improved Workflow: Allows users to switch between modes without losing their place or interrupting their editing process.
- Enhanced Usability: Streamlines the experience for users working on lengthy templates, especially those with multiple sections or steps.
- Increased Efficiency: Saves time and reduces frustration during template creation and revision cycles.
- Better Adoption: Encourages more frequent use of Preview Mode, leading to higher-quality templates with fewer formatting issues.
