Managing asset imagery within Limble is currently a manual and inefficient process. Users often capture relevant photos while completing tasks, but there is no direct way to use those images to update an asset’s profile picture. This creates unnecessary steps and wastes time during asset documentation and update workflows.
Current Limitations
- No Direct Image Linking: There is no option to mark or assign a task image as the asset's primary photo.
- Manual Download-Upload Workflow: Users must save the image locally from the task, navigate to the asset’s card, and re-upload the image—adding multiple unnecessary steps.
- Disjointed Experience: The lack of integration between task images and asset profiles prevents real-time asset documentation updates from the field.
General Example
- A technician takes a photo of an updated machine label or new installation as part of a task but has no way to apply that image to the asset’s profile without leaving the task flow and performing a manual upload.
Requested Enhancements
- "Set as Asset Image" Option
Provide an action within image-based instructions or attachments to apply the photo directly to the asset profile image. - Asset Card Update from Task View
Allow users to link task images to the corresponding asset without navigating away from the task.
Business Value
- Efficiency: Saves time by reducing duplicate steps for field users and technicians.
- Data Accuracy: Encourages up-to-date asset documentation using photos captured during active maintenance or inspections.
- User Experience: Streamlines workflows and aligns with intuitive field reporting behavior.
